27 National Olympic Committees back Sheikh Joaan for OCA presidency

KUWAIT CITY: The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has announced that it has received nominations from 27 National Olympic Committees in favour of H.E. Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al Thani for the position of OCA President for the term 2027- 2035.

The OCA President thanked the NOCs for their trust and confidence in his leadership.

The deadline for nominations from the OCA’s 45 member National Olympic Committees closed on June 30, 2026, at 5 pm Kuwait time.

The OCA has not received any other nominations for the post of President of the OCA.

The next OCA General Assembly will be held in Doha, Qatar, on January 27, 2027.
