27 Expats Arrested Over Expired Residencies, 1,300 Traffic Violations Recorded in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 14: Kuwait’s General Directorate of Emergency Police conducted a comprehensive security campaign across several governorates and areas of the country on Thursday, August 13, as part of the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing efforts to enhance security and enforce the law.

The campaign covered various locations as well as main and secondary roads, targeting wanted individuals, violators and traffic violations. According to figures released by the Ministry of Interior, authorities recorded 1,300 traffic violations and made 33 arrests.

The campaign also resulted in the arrest of 27 people for expired residencies, while 12 individuals were found without official identification documents. Police also seized or dealt with 15 wanted vehicles and recorded 26 violations related to noise pollution. In addition, authorities recorded three cases involving drugs and alcohol, impounded 26 vehicles for traffic violations, and detained one person at the Traffic Detention Center. Police also seized one bladed weapon and dealt with two criminal and civil cases.

The Ministry said the campaign forms part of its continued security operations aimed at apprehending wanted persons and violators, monitoring violations and taking necessary legal action to maintain security and public order and protect citizens and residents.
