269 Camps Removed in Kuwait on First Day After License Cancellation

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 3:  The Public Relations Department at Kuwait Municipality announced that 269 spring camps were removed on the first day of voluntary compliance following the cancellation of temporary spring camp licenses.

The move comes in implementation of directives issued by the Council of Ministers to revoke temporary permits for seasonal camping sites.

The municipality expressed appreciation for the cooperation shown by citizens and residents who responded promptly to the cancellation decision by dismantling their camps voluntarily.

According to the statement, removals were recorded across 11 locations. In six camping sites within Al-Ahmadi Governorate, a total of 70 camps were voluntarily dismantled by their owners, representing a compliance rate of 68.6 percent. Additionally, municipal cleaning teams in the governorate removed 32 camps at the Al-Wafra and Arifjan sites.

In Al-Jahra Governorate, camp owners responded to the decision by removing camps at five authorized locations, achieving a compliance rate of 30 percent. These included 58 camps at the Hajj Rest Area site, 29 at the Sulaibiya site, 55 at the Camel Holdings and Sixth Ring Road sites, and 25 camps at the Horse Stables site.

The municipality reaffirmed its commitment to implementing the Cabinet’s directives and ensuring full compliance with the cancellation of temporary spring camp licenses across all designated areas.
