265,000 passengers to use airport during the holidays

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 23: While the agencies operating at Kuwait International Airport continue their efforts to manage the movement of incoming and outgoing passengers coinciding with the resumption of travel for all, many are preparing to spend the national holidays in some European and Arab countries, reports Al-Qabas daily. According to statistics prepared by the airport’s agencies, the total expected passengers during the 12- day period from Tuesday, February 22 to March 5 is about 265,000 passengers who will be transported on 2,505 flights.

The total number of departing passengers during this period will be about 146,000 on 1,250 flights, and 119,000 passengers are expected to arrive on 1,254 flights. Istanbul, Cairo, Dubai and Jeddah represent the highest movement of passengers in terms of departing and arriving destinations. According to an informed source, the agencies operating at the airport held several meetings earlier to increase the number of individuals and employees of the entities that deal with travelers, and to provide all necessary facilities.

The operating devices will be in a race against time to end the procedures for departures and arrivals by increasing the field work teams and increasing the number of airport counters. All travel procedures at the Kuwait International Airport are in accordance with the requirements set by the health authorities.
