‘259,000 Kuwaitis visit Dubai’

KUWAIT CITY, March 4: Director of International Operations for the Middle East and Gulf Cooperation Council at the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai Ahmed Al-Marri said Dubai pays special attention to attracting Kuwaiti and other Gulf tourists, reports Al-Qabas daily. Al-Marri made the statement on the sidelines of his visit recently, as part of the Gulf countries media delegation. He revealed that more than 259,000 Kuwaitis visited Dubai last year.

He also confirmed the strong cooperation with tourism companies and Kuwaiti aviation. “We work with Jazeera Airways and Kuwait Airways to develop tourism in Dubai. This cooperation turned into integrated partnerships with Kuwait,” he added. He said Kuwait is strategically located among the Gulf countries. He indicated that the tourism system in Dubai is constantly evolving, citing as an example the new and modern hotels with special offers for Kuwaiti and other Gulf travelers throughout the year, along with new tourism facilities.

He also stressed that Dubai has exceptional capabilities to host big conferences, corporate meetings and business forums of delegates from around the world; not to mention its hotels and facilities that meet various needs of visitors and companies. He highlighted the city’s activities and the opportunity to visit distinctive tourist attractions that gained international fame.
