KUWAIT CITY, Aug 17: The Ministry of Interior announced that 258 individuals were arrested during a large-scale security campaign targeting violators of residency and labor laws across all governorates of the country.
The operation was carried out by the General Department of Residency Affairs Investigations, under the directives of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, and the direct supervision of Brigadier General Fawaz Al-Roumi, Head of the Nationality and Residency Sector.
According to the ministry, those apprehended included absconding workers, individuals with expired residency permits and visas, as well as persons wanted in various cases.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing violators of residency and labor regulations, monitoring illegal workers, and addressing practices that undermine security and public order.
The ministry further emphasized that accountability measures will extend to both workers and employers, with no leniency shown, in strict implementation of the Residency and Labor Law.
