KUWAIT CITY, June 26: The head of the Kuwait Society for Traffic Safety, Bader Al- Matar, revealed that 2,500 people have died as a result of car accidents in the country during the past five years. The latest statistics show the death of 711 citizens and residents due to accidents during the two years (2021/2022) until last April.

Al-Matar said in a press statement yesterday this rise gives a dangerous indication of the aggravation of traffic accidents in the country, and calls for action to reduce human and material losses, save lives and public and private property. He pointed out that eliminating traffic accidents will not come unless everyone exercises their sense of responsibility, led by officials in different sectors, and this can only be achieved by intensifying traffic awareness campaigns, in addition to reconsidering some traffic concerns in the country.

Al-Matar stressed the importance of everyone’s adherence to the societal duty that requires us to be a role model in front of our children and families in adhering to the etiquette, laws, regulations and rules of road traffic and respecting traffic lights in order to preserve traffic safety.
