250 fraud, scam cases in May ’26

KUWAIT CITY, June 17: The Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) announced that it handled 250 reports of fraud and scam cases during May 2026, distributed across various electronic platforms and channels, reports Al- Seyassah daily. Statistics showed that websites topped the list with 128 reports, followed by social media with 63, phone calls with 32, WhatsApp with 24, and SMS messages with 3. CITRA emphasized the importance of reporting any suspicious messages, links, or phone calls, and stressed the need to avoid sharing personal or banking information with any untrusted entity.
