KUWAIT CITY, March 27: The Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Muhammad Al-Jabri, said 24 imams were suspended over the past three years for not abiding by the Charter of Mosques, reports Al-Rai daily.Al-Jabri added these imams are not permitted to organize seminars in mosques, but can hold cultural and legitimate activity in accordance with the cultural plan adopted by the Mosques Department.Al-Jabri said in a reply to a parliamentary query raised by MP Ahmad Al-Fadhel, that the Mosque Charter stipulates the use of appropriate words, and not abusing people, bodies, sects or states.
