KUWAIT CITY, May 16: The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, through its Capital Governorate Inspection Department – Seafront Food Inspection Center, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and Kuwait Municipality, has seized a large quantity of adulterated food during a field inspection campaign.

Authorities said approximately 234 kilograms of frozen shrimp of unknown origin were confiscated after it was discovered that the seafood had been thawed and prepared for resale as fresh product, in violation of food safety regulations. The consignment was reportedly ready for distribution in local markets.

The Authority confirmed that legal action was immediately taken, including the issuance of violation reports and the preparation of a destruction order for the seized goods.

Reiterating its commitment to consumer protection, the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition said such monitoring campaigns will continue in cooperation with relevant state bodies to ensure food safety and prevent the circulation of unsafe products.
