23 Peddlers Arrested in Kuwait Drug Crackdown; Police Seize Narcotics, Cash and Ammunition

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 4: Kuwait's Ministry of Interior has arrested 23 people in 12 separate drug-related cases during a series of security operations targeting narcotics trafficking and abuse, seizing large quantities of drugs, cash, and other evidence, the ministry announced on Tuesday.

The Ministry said the arrests were carried out by the General Directorate for Drug Control under the Criminal Security Sector following intensive surveillance and investigations that uncovered the suspects' involvement in possessing narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances for the purposes of trafficking and personal use.

All suspects, along with the confiscated items, have been referred to the competent authorities for legal action.

Items seized during the operations:

860 grams of methamphetamine (crystal meth)
50 grams of heroin
1 kilogram and 5 grams of hashish
21 grams of marijuana
1 gram of cocaine
2 kilograms and 62 grams of synthetic cannabinoids (chemical)
120 ml of synthetic cannabinoid oil
105 sheets of paper soaked in synthetic cannabinoids
5,620 Lyrica capsules
130 Captagon tablets
80 psychotropic capsules
5 precision weighing scales
8 bullets
KD 3,955 in cash believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking
Sachets used for packaging narcotics

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying security campaigns against drug trafficking and abuse, stressing that authorities will continue to pursue dealers, promoters, and users with full force of the law to safeguard society from the dangers posed by narcotics and psychotropic substances.
