KUWAIT CITY, May 18: The Kuwait Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of 11 individuals in separate drug-related cases as part of ongoing security campaigns led by the Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Directorate for Drug Control, to combat narcotics trafficking and abuse across the country.
The suspects included two Kuwaiti citizens, one Egyptian national, two Bangladeshi nationals, one Indian national, two Nepalese nationals and three Bedouns. Authorities said the accused were apprehended while in possession of various narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, firearms, ammunition and alcoholic beverages.
According to the ministry, the seized items included approximately 150 grams of liquid methamphetamine, 43 grams of methamphetamine, 202 grams of heroin, 41 grams of hashish, one gram of cocaine, and around 70 milliliters of liquid synthetic cannabinoids. Officers also confiscated 507 Captagon pills, around 80 grams of Lyrica along with 210 Lyrica capsules, and two rolled hashish cigarettes.
Security personnel additionally seized six bottles of liquor and three cans containing alcohol, along with two digital weighing scales believed to have been used in drug distribution activities.
Authorities further recovered a firearm, 39 live rounds of ammunition and one magazine, as well as KD290 in cash suspected to be proceeds from drug trafficking operations.
The Ministry of Interior stated that all necessary legal measures have been taken against the accused, who have been referred to the competent authorities for further investigations and legal action.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying anti-drug campaigns and pursuing dealers and users, stressing that it will continue to enforce the law firmly to protect society from the dangers posed by narcotics.
