197,000 passengers departed and 135,000 arrived in Kuwait in 80 days

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 18: Director of Operations Department at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Mansour Al-Hashimi, stated that since the beginning of the airport’s operation from 1st Aug until yesterday, 197,000 passengers departed, and about 135,000 arrived on board 1965 flights by various airlines within 80 days.

Al-Hashemi said, all flights that depart and arrive in the country come within the first phase operation not exceeding 30 percent. Majority of departing flights were for Turkey, Dubai and Doha.


Expats from the 34 banned countries are allowed and exempted from entering the country who wish to return to Kuwait, after staying in an un-banned country for a period of 14 days, and a PCR certificate besides adhering to health requirements upon arrival in the country with 14 days home quarantine.

The Operations Department is constantly communicating with the relevant authorities in the country to facilitate and overcome all obstacles faced by passengers, airlines and ground service staff in accordance with the standards and conditions of the health authorities in the country.
