181 expat workers arrested or violating the labor law

KUWAIT CITY, March 11: A total of 181 laborers were arrested from the site of Shadadiya University for violating the labor law. Director General of Public Authority for Manpower Ahmad Al-Mousa explained that 117 of these laborers are under article 20 residency type which is intended for domestic workers, 15 laborers have the residency intended for shepherds and 49 laborers have article 18 residency.

He affirmed that the authority will take necessary legal actions against these laborers and their sponsors. Al-Mousa said those with article 17 residency type will be referred to Ministry of Interior for necessary legal action. He indicated that the files of the sponsors will be closed among other legal actions. Al-Mousa urged all employees and employers to abide by the regulations of the labor law
