KUWAIT CITY, May 30: According to official statistics, 178 radar citations were issued during the first hours of Eid al-Adha. They explained that the previously announced stricter penalties will apply to those recently apprehended during the radar campaigns, particularly those caught speeding significantly above legal limits. A total of 97 citations were issued for using a mobile phone while driving and for not wearing a seatbelt, 38 for parking in the vicinity of Al-Amiri and Al-Adan hospitals, and 46 citations were issued to public transport buses, mainly for failing to adhere to designated routes and traffic regulations. The sources stated that the Ministry of Interior is preparing to issue a decision banning delivery motorcycles during peak hours to protect the safety of riders and other road users, especially given the high summer temperatures.
