KUWAIT CITY, Jan 13: Kuwait International Airport recorded heavy passenger traffic during the New Year’s holiday period of 2026, according to Mr. Abdullah Fadaous Al-Rajhi, Acting Deputy Director General for Aviation Safety and Air Transport Affairs and Civil Aviation Security.
He stated that between January 1 and January 3, 2026, a total of 173,982 passengers arrived at and departed from Kuwait International Airport. During the same period, the airport handled 1,082 aircraft movements, comprising 540 departing flights and 542 arriving flights.
Breaking down the passenger numbers by terminal, Passenger Terminal 1 handled 72,427 travellers, Passenger Terminal 4 recorded 54,330 passengers, and Passenger Terminal 5 served 47,225 passengers.
Mr. Al-Rajhi added that the most popular travel destinations during the New Year’s holiday included Dubai, Cairo, Jeddah, Doha, and Istanbul.
