KUWAIT CITY, Feb 10: The Ministry of Social Affairs referred 17 employees and supervisors to the Legal Affairs Department because they violated health requirements.

This action was taken following an inspection campaign carried out by the Assistant Undersecretary for Financial and Administrative Affairs in the Ministry of Social Affairs Abdulaziz Al-Mutairi to ensure the compliance of the employees in the ministry’s headquarters in the Ministries Complex with the mandatory health requirements.

According to reliable sources, the violations varied from not adhering to wearing masks to not observing social distancing, despite the warning bulletins issued by the ministry since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis and the emphasis on applying the conditions.

The penalties are imposed in steps, starting with a warning. In the event of repetition, a day’s salary is deducted and this could continue up to 15 days of salary.

The sources affirmed the continuation of the ministry’s requirements committee headed by Al-Mutairi to monitor the implementation of the requirements within it and its social units distributed in different regions. They stated that the Ministry of Social Affairs had previously referred seven employees to the Legal Affairs Department, and warnings were formally directed to them, adding that in the event they repeat, their two-day salary will be deducted.
