KUWAIT CITY, Aug 20: The Inspection Department at the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has launched an intensive inspection campaign in Al-Mutla’a, reports Al-Anba daily. This campaign was conducted by a joint committee whose members are from the Residency Affairs Investigation Department at the Ministry of Interior and PAM. The campaign led to the arrest of 168 workers proven to have violated Labor and Residency laws.

The authority disclosed that among those arrested were 130 domestic workers and 38 private sector employees. It confirmed that the files of the employers under whom these workers are registered will be reviewed to ensure compliance with the Labor Law and its executive regulations. All violators will be referred to the Residency Affairs Investigations Department for the necessary legal procedures. PAM stressed that inspection teams will continue to intensify campaigns in various areas to uncover violations and safeguard the labor market from illegal practices. It then reiterated its call on business owners and individuals to strictly adhere to the Labor Law and its implementing regulation
