KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2 : More than 1,600 people participated in the Viksit Bharat Run 2.0, organised by the Embassy of India in Kuwait at Boulevard Park, Salmiya, on Friday as part of Seva Pakhwada 2026.

Indian Ambassador to Kuwait HE Mrs Paramita Tripathi flagged off the run, which brought together members of the Indian community and friends of India from different age groups and walks of life. The event promoted fitness, community participation and the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

The run also contributed to the wider Fit India Movement through the Fit India Freedom Run 7.0, being held from October 2 to 31. Ambassador Tripathi encouraged participants to adopt an active lifestyle and make physical activity part of their daily routine, with the campaign encouraging at least 30 minutes of physical activity each day.

The event carried the message “Run for Fitness, Run for Unity, Run for Viksit Bharat!”, linking physical fitness and a healthy society with the broader objectives of Swachh Bharat and Viksit Bharat.

Cleanliness was also given prominence during the event. Following the run, participants took part in waste collection and cleanliness activities under the “Leave No Trace” principle, reflecting the spirit of Swachhata Hi Seva 2026.

Addressing participants, Ambassador Tripathi said the event was particularly significant as Seva Pakhwada, the fortnight of service, culminated on October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Referring to Gandhi's emphasis on cleanliness, she urged participants to ensure that no waste was left behind at the venue.

“If you can run, run. If you cannot run, walk. Get your steps in, enjoy the morning, and most importantly, have fun and enjoy the outdoors,” she said.

The Ambassador also called on participants to celebrate Seva, Swachhata and Fitness together in the spirit of Gandhi and as part of efforts to promote a healthy, active and responsible society.

The Embassy of India thanked all participants and supporters for their enthusiastic participation in the successful organisation of the Viksit Bharat Run 2026.
