16 Magazines Shut Down in Kuwait as Licenses Revoked

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 22: The Ministry of Information has issued decisions cancelling the licenses of 16 monthly, weekly, and periodical magazines, according to notices published in the official gazette, Kuwait Alyoum, on Sunday.

The revoked publications include the monthly National Guard, Food World, Future of Sustainable Energy, Women and Sports, Dyslexia, Kuwait Credit Bank, Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, Water and Energy, Athletes, Shareholder, Little Plato, Al-Firdous Cooperative Society, and Ideal Home magazines.

Also affected are the weekly Al-Kawthar magazine, the bi-monthly Al-Bushra magazine, and the quarterly Al-Qurain Cooperative Society magazine.

The decisions take effect as published in the official gazette. No further details were provided regarding the reasons for the cancellations.
