KUWAIT CITY, June 5: Data obtained by the Al-Anba daily show from the beginning of the year until last month (May), 16 requests were submitted to the Public Authority for Industry (PAI) to obtain plots of land for industrial or factory purposes varying between the production of foodstuffs, rebar, electrical equipment, medical products and the recycling of batteries for the production of lead briquettes, reports Al-Anba daily. This is in addition to the production of submersible pumps and other activities such as the production of perfumes, detergents, iron bars, production of aluminum and wooden kitchen cabinets. The data stated the total investment expected upon granting these industrial plots or implementing these projects is estimated at 132 million dinars, and ensures the employment of an estimated 1,573 workers.

The data showed the largest investment volume for industrial plots is estimated at 50.9 million dinars, which is a request for the production of iron and rebar molds, forming and grafting rebar, and the expected number of employment is 160, and requires the allocation of an industrial facility on an area of 95,000 square meters. The second biggest request is reinforced steel with a value of 21.1 million dinars, and the firm to be built on an area of 63,000 square meters. Another largest investment which can employ 479 people is in the production of aluminum profiles (making base metals) with investments worth 16 million dinars.
