154 tenders awarded in 6 months

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 30: The Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) announced that the number of tenders awarded in the first six months of the current year totaled 154, at a total value of KD1.07 billion, compared to the estimated value of KD1.19 billion, hence, saving KD120.334 million. In its semi-annual statistics, the agency revealed that the value of four tenders awarded for oil and petroleum sector projects totaled KD474.163 million, while 150 tenders were awarded to government agencies with a total value of KD596.285 million.

In the government sector, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy ranked first in terms of awarded tender value, with KD430.405 million for 35 tenders, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) ranked second with KD35.404 million for five tenders, and the Ministry of Public Works ranked third with KD16.533 million for seven tenders. In terms of project classification, the statistics indicate that electrical and mechanical works ranked first with 39 projects (25 percent of total contract awards), technology, information systems and telecommunications projects ranked second with 26 (17 percent), and labor supply projects ranked third with 17 (11 percent).
