KUWAIT CITY, Mar 25: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that its inspection teams monitored 151 cooperative societies, supermarkets, commercial stores and vegetable outlets to determine the extent of their commitment and maintain the stability of product prices.
The ministry added in a statement to KUNA today, that the relevant teams are continuing their inspection in order to ensure the prices and services provided to consumers are in accordance to the mark set by the MOCI.
It stated that its inspection teams took over the control of 39 catering branches to ensure the smooth flow of sales operations and the delivery of foodstuffs to their beneficiaries, in addition to eight automatic bakeries affiliated to the Kuwait Mills Company.
The emergency center received 265 complaints via the 135 hotline, in addition to 222 issuance and renewal of ration cards.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry stressed the need to abide by the laws because of the exceptional circumstances the country is going through and that its inspection teams will be on the lookout for all those who ask themselves to take advantage of this circumstance.
