15 Expats Face Deportation After Farwaniya Crackdown on Illegal Businesses

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 7 : Security authorities, in cooperation with the Committee for Negative Phenomena and other government agencies, conducted an inspection campaign at several locations in Farwaniya Governorate, resulting in the arrest of 15 workers and the closure of several illegal businesses.

The campaign targeted violations of residency, commercial, food safety and municipal regulations.

Violations detected:

  • 15 workers violating Article 20 for conducting commercial activities inside a private residential home.
  • Four grocery stores operating illegally in private residential areas.
  • One tailor shop operating illegally.
  • Several locations being used as bachelor accommodations.
  • Expired and unfit-for-human-consumption food products, including frozen meat and fish.
  • Tobacco products were also seized.

The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition issued citations and destroyed food items deemed unfit for consumption. Kuwait Municipality issued reports and warnings, while the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy disconnected power supplies to the violating locations.

Legal measures were taken against the violators, and procedures were completed for the deportation of the violating workers in accordance with established regulations.
