NEW YORK, Sept 27 : US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz said a record 146 countries have condemned Iran over attacks on civilian shipping, arguing that Tehran is becoming increasingly isolated internationally.
Speaking to Fox News, Waltz said the attacks during the past 13 days had focused particularly on what he described as Iran’s “terrorist activities” targeting civilian shipping.
“A record 146 have stood with us in condemning those activities,” Waltz said, adding that Iran’s maritime operations reflected what he called “acts of desperation” as Tehran faces mounting military and economic pressure.
Waltz’s comments come amid continued international concern over disruptions to commercial shipping and navigation in the region.
