KUWAIT CITY, May 17: Kuwait’s Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Department has announced a series of intensified inspection campaigns across various governorates as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen market oversight and ensure compliance with commercial regulations.

In a coordinated operation with the Ministry of Interior, emergency inspection teams apprehended a health institute found in violation of Ministerial Resolution No. (32) of 2026, which prohibits cash transactions for companies operating in certain activities. Authorities said additional violations linked to the same establishment were also detected by the Interior Ministry, and legal action was taken jointly by both authorities.

Separately, inspection teams in Al Farwaniyah Governorate carried out field visits to several commercial outlets, resulting in the issuance of 22 enforcement reports for various violations. These included advertising services not actually provided and non-compliance by private pharmacies with regulations banning cash transactions in specified sectors.

Authorities also ordered the closure of two shops—one for selling expired herbal products and another for failing to cooperate with inspectors during official duties. Two additional violation notices were issued for operating without a license and for conducting activities outside the scope of the approved license.

In a further operation at the Friday Market, inspectors seized 1,430 counterfeit goods. All seized items were documented, and related cases were referred to the Commercial Prosecution for further legal proceedings, the department confirmed.
