KUWAIT CITY, Apr 30: Kuwait's Ministry of Health on Friday reported 9 new COVID-19 deaths, and 1,429 infections in the past 24 hours.
The Ministry's spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told KUNA that the total fatalities climbed to 1,563, and the caseload to 273,991 since the beginning of the pandemic. Al-Sanad added that 1,444 have recovered today bringing the total recoveries to 257,261, which makes the recovery rate 93.89 percent out of total conducted tests.

Total of 219 patients are being treated at the intensive care units, making the number of patients receiving health care 15,167, he added. Moreover, over the past 24 hours, 9,865 tests were conducted, with infection rate of 14.49 percent, increasing the total conducted tests to 2,326,703, he said. Al-Sanad renewed his call on the public to maintain social distancing, and to abide with all health regulations that would help in stopping the virus spread. (KUNA)
