Russian Ambassador to Kuwait Vladimir Zheltov

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 29: Russian Ambassador to Kuwait Vladimir Zheltov confirmed that tourism between the two countries is experiencing rapid growth, indicating that Russia welcomed 16,200 Kuwaiti tourists in 2024, while the first nine months of 2025 witnessed the arrival of 14,000 Kuwaiti tourists -- an increase of nine percent compared to the same period last year, and that this number is expected to reach around 18,000 by the end of 2025.

In his speech at the Sochi Winter Roadshow at the Radisson Blu Hotel recently, Zheltov pointed out that this increase is a manifestation of “the growing interest among Kuwaiti travelers in exploring Russian destinations.” He said the upcoming winter season, from December to February, will offer a unique experience for Kuwaiti travelers, combining the charm of the warm Black Sea with the snow-capped peaks of the Caucasus Mountains. “This is a blend of marine and recreational activities with world-class ski resorts, all in one trip.

Sochi is poised to become a new and attractive winter destination for Kuwaitis,” he disclosed. He clarified that Russia is not limited to Sochi alone, as Moscow and St. Petersburg continue to offer a rich mix of heritage, culture, world-class cuisine, events and the unique character of Russian winter. He then thanked the Russian and Kuwaiti entities involved in organizing the roadshow, along with Jazeera Airways. He wished the participants a successful and rewarding experience
