1,400 engineers holding fake engineering degrees: KSE

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 10: Head of Kuwait Engineers Society (KES) Engineer Faisal Al-Atl stated in a recent interview that nearly 1,400 fake engineering certificate holders have been discovered, Annahar daily.

He said the above-stated figure was detected when government officially assigned KES to review and accredit the certificates of expatriate engineers handling government projects, noting the society is subjected to pressures from local political and administrative authorities, as well as foreign agencies to stop the review and accreditation of engineering certificates.

He pointed to another serious issue in relation to more than 300 individuals on engineering work permits who are without university degree and supervising government projects that are worth hundreds of millions of dinars. He reiterated that Public Authority for Manpower has shown lack of cooperation with KES regarding the idea of publicizing the list of names of fake certificate holders
