KUWAIT CITY, Nov 6: In their unrelenting efforts that thwarted the recent attempt to smuggle weapons from Iraq to the country — followed by confiscation of 325,000 rounds of bullets among other weapons inside a livestock pen and other places, investigators have trailed and arrested a person in possession of 140 pieces of rifles (shozan).
Security sources said officers from Weapons Investigation Department were led to the suspect by a person who was arrested earlier on accusations of smuggling weapons, and they recovered a new cache of “shozans” in his keep.
Detectives from the criminal security sector affirmed that efforts will continue through intensified investigations by officers to trace and arrest any person violating the law. They noted proper legal documentation and necessary warrants will be obtained to pursue individuals keeping firearms, ammunition or explosives.
