KUWAIT CITY, March 9: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry affirmed receiving 98 complaints last Saturday via its hotline “135”, while emergency teams closed 14 stalls at the main fruits and vegetable market (chabra) for violations related to unjustified prices hike during a tour of some 130 pharmacies, shops and vegetable stalls.

In a statement, the ministry added that its inspectors also toured the Vegetable and Fruit Market in Andalous area and observed auction of the main fish market. It stressed the need for commercial complexes, markets and stores to follow the precautionary measures set by the ministry in dealing with coronavirus

Fruits and vegetables are being confiscated at a makeshift market by the Municipality in a recent Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh raid. The hawkers keep springing up at another place despite strict checking and raids sometimes three times in a day, according to an eye-witness.
