KUWAIT CITY, Nov 30: The General Traffic Department (GTD) has issued 26,338 traffic citations within a week, while 14 expatriates have been referred to ‘deportation’ and 29 juveniles sent to the Juvenile Prosecution Office, in addition to putting behind bars 82 reckless motorists and those caught committing serious traffic offences. The GTD stated the 14 expatriates committed serious traffic offenses which necessitate their deportation.

The GTD has also impounded 16 vehicles from motorists for committing serious violations and 10 others which were required by law. The GTD sources emphasized it continues to pursue reckless motorists, especially those who take advantage of the rain to commit reckless acts on the main roads and in residential areas, putting their lives and the lives of other people at risk.
