KUWAIT CITY, Feb 16: The 13th Kuwait international sailing championship, organized by Kuwait Sea Sport Club (KSSC), kicked off on Thursday and will continue until February 18, with the participation of 11 teams. The head of the committee of KSSC Ahmad Al-Failakawi said in a statement that the tournament witnessed the participation of 83 male and female players from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, Italy, France and Venezuela.

The championship activities started with the opening ceremony, competitions began, and three races were held on the first day of the championship, which is supervised by the International Sailing Federation, Al-Failakawi added. The championship competitions will be held daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the closing ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. next Saturday, he explained, pointing to the club's keenness to hold such international tournaments, which coincided with national holidays.
