13kg Chewing Tobacco Seized from Indian Passenger at Kuwait Airport T4

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 16: The General Administration of Customs – Airports Department has apprehended an Indian national at Kuwait International Airport (Terminal 4) for attempting to smuggle chewing tobacco (Gutka) into the country.

The suspect, who arrived on a flight from Delhi, India, and works as a customs broker for a company, was found in possession of 13 kilograms of tobacco concealed within his personal belongings during routine inspection procedures. The seized items violated applicable customs regulations and instructions.

Authorities confirmed that the necessary legal measures have been initiated, and a seizure report is being prepared for referral to the General Department of Criminal Investigation – Airport Investigations to complete the probe and take further legal action.

The General Administration of Customs reiterated its commitment to strengthening oversight at all entry points and combating attempts to smuggle prohibited or restricted goods, to protect national security and public safety.
