KUWAIT CITY, April 8: Kuwait reported 1,379 infection cases with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on Thursday, raising the total number of cases to 242,848 and four deaths, swelling the overall count of fatalities to 1,383. In a statement to KUNA, Ministry of Health's official spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said 1,234 people recovered from the virus, during the last hours, putting the overall number of recoveries at 227,260, adding that the percentage of recoveries out of infections is 93.6 percent.
Number patients in ICUs is 226, with the total number of patients still receiving medical care standing at 14,205.
Meanwhile, number of freshly taken swabs is 9,680, with the whole count of such examinations standing at 2.131,155, Dr. Al-Sanad said. He added that infection percentage out of swabs taken in the past 24 hours was 14.2.
