13 arrested in Kuwait drug bust; meth, hashish, Lyrica and weapons seized

KUWAIT CITY, Sep 13: The General Directorate for Drug Control has arrested 13 suspects, including one woman, in 10 separate cases as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and apprehend dealers.

The cases involved the possession of narcotics and psychotropic substances with the intent to traffic and use them. The arrests and seizures were carried out by the Local Control Department, International Control Department and Operations Department.

Seized items:

4 kilograms and 480 grams of methamphetamine
4 kilograms and 872 grams of hashish
3 grams of cocaine
14,500 Lyrica capsules
590 psychotropic tablets
100 Captagon tablets
99 A4 sheets saturated with chemical substances
10 ampoules containing chemical substances
280 milliliters of hashish oil
40 pieces of candy containing hashish
3 shotguns and a large quantity of ammunition
10 precision scales
Quantities of empty sachets prepared for filling drugs
KD 12,155 in cash

The suspects and seized items were referred to the competent authorities for the necessary legal action, the Ministry of Interior said.
