121 residency violators caught in traffic sweep

KUWAIT CITY, May 4: The General Traffic Department continued its campaigns in various governorates. The campaigns carried out last week resulted in the issuance of 16,265 traffic citations, while 218 vehicles were impounded and 46 individuals were detained at traffic police stations. According to the weekly traffic patrol statistics, the officers apprehended seven minors for driving without a license, 121 individuals with outstanding arrest warrants, and 121 individuals found to have violated the Residency and Labor laws. All those arrested were referred to the concerned authorities.

Meanwhile, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah honored Saad Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, an employee at Salmi Border Department in the Borders Security Sector at the Interior Ministry, in recognition of his vigilance and dedication to his duties. These qualities led to the discovery of an attempt to enter the country illegally through Salmi border. The traveler arrived at the border, where he tried to enter the country using a Kuwaiti emergency entry document, which is issued exclusively to Kuwaiti citizens. After verification and biometric fingerprinting, the authorities discovered that the traveler is registered in Kuwait under a different name and holds a passport from a foreign country, contrary to his claim of being a Kuwaiti citizen. The accused was referred to the concerned authorities for legal action and to investigate all aspects of the incident. The recognition of Al-Mutairi is in line with the commitment of the ministry to support and motivate outstanding national talent, and promote the culture of vigilance and discipline in the workplace, thereby, maintaining national security. Acting Director of Salmi Border Brigadier Ali Yousef Al-Tammar attended the ceremony in honor of Al- Mutairi.
