KUWAIT CITY, Feb 17: A commercial inspection campaign by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has led to the issuance of 12 violation reports against stores selling underweight products. The campaign, conducted under the directives of Minister Osama Boodai, targeted consumer goods outlets as part of a proactive plan to strengthen market regulation and consumer protection ahead of Ramadan.

The Ministry said inspections uncovered underweight items, including garbage bags and tablecloths, prompting legal action against the violating stores in line with existing regulations. Authorities confirmed that no instances of monopoly or artificial price hikes were found, highlighting strong adherence to approved pricing across the market.

The Ministry emphasized that inspections will continue in the coming period to ensure product safety, maintain price stability, and protect consumer rights, in line with the minister’s directives.
