12 hurt in gas cylinders blast

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 5: Fire broke out in a flat on the ground floor of a six-storied building with a basement in Hawally area due to explosion of gas cylinders, resulting in 12 casualties, most of whom suffered from smoke inhalation. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the flat on fire, firefighters rushed to the location with securitymen and paramedics.

After evacuating all the people in the vicinity, firefighters extinguished the fire. Paramedics provided treatment to the victims and referred two of them to the nearest hospital for treatment. Investigations revealed that the cause of the fire was explosion of gas cylinders. Securitymen took necessary action.
