KUWAIT CITY, Mar 4: The Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday that an 11-year-old girl has died after sustaining shrapnel injuries in a residential area in the Capital Governorate.
In a press release issued by the Ministry, the official spokesperson, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, stated that Al-Amiri Hospital received the child through emergency medical services after she was injured by shrapnel.
He explained that emergency teams responded immediately upon receiving the report and began administering treatment at the scene. Resuscitation efforts continued inside the ambulance while she was being transported to the hospital and were sustained for approximately 30 minutes after she arrived at Al-Amiri Hospital. Despite intensive attempts to save her life, the child succumbed to her injuries.
Dr. Al-Sanad added that four members of the girl’s family, including her mother, are currently undergoing medical evaluation and have been placed under observation at the hospital to ensure their safety and monitor their health condition.
The Ministry of Health extended its deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the child’s family, praying for mercy upon her soul and wishing a swift recovery to the injured.
