108 Kgs Spoilt Meat Confiscated in Kuwait's Capital Governorate

KUWAIT CITY, Sep 10: The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN), as part of its ongoing regulatory efforts to protect consumer health and safety, has detected several food-related violations during inspection campaigns in Capital Governorate.

The violations included the trading of food products unfit for human consumption and spoiled items whose natural characteristics had deteriorated, including changes in color, shape and odor.

Inspectors also detected the trading of adulterated food products without a valid food registration card, along with violations involving the failure to meet general health requirements at food establishments and non-compliance with hygiene rules and conditions during operations.

As a result of the inspections, a total of 108.040 kilograms of food products deemed unfit for human consumption or adulterated were destroyed, the authority said.
