100 liquor factories raided in 2018

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 27: The security authorities this year have until date raided about 100 locations manufacturing local alcohol, arrested the bootleggers and confiscated alcohol producing gadgets including raw materials, reports Al- Qabas daily.

A security source affirmed the public security and rescue and criminal investigation departments raided several apartments which had been turned into factories and warehouses to manufacture and promote local booze in the heart of populated areas, mostly run by Asian expatriates.

The source revealed the recent arrests made by the securitymen showed some grocery stores were selling local booze for cheap for as much as KD 2.500 for a small bottle.
