KUWAIT CITY, Nov 17: The Criminal Court sentenced a former Ministry of Information official to 10 years in prison with hard labor, while other citizens were sentenced to seven and 10 years in jail with hard labor, for kidnapping a young Bedoun man, reports Al-Qabas daily. The Public Prosecution and the court have refused to release the defendants since the beginning of investigations.

Case files indicate the former government official planned to kidnap the young man by promising to give an iPad to the latter whom he found on Instagram, but the young man was terrified and refused to see him to receive the gift. Therefore, the former official sent a number of people who are affiliated with him to the Bedoun and they pretended to be detectives. They then took him to the house of the former official, but he escaped and filed a complaint against the official.
