Court hands down a 10-year sentence for assault resulting in an Asian woman’s suicide.

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 26: The Court of Cassation has confirmed a 10-year prison sentence for an individual found guilty of indecent assault on an Asian woman who tragically took her own life by jumping from an apartment window.

The accused faced trial following charges by the Public Prosecution, alleging that on the day of the incident, he unlawfully assaulted the victim and engaged in non-consensual sexual intercourse. The perpetrator reportedly restrained, beat, and incapacitated the victim, resulting in injuries detailed in the forensic medical report. The severity of the assault prompted the victim to resort to the extreme step of throwing herself from the apartment window.
