Municipality launches multiple campaigns to end ‘chaos’

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 6: The Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality revealed that emergency teams from Farwaniya Municipality carried out a field tour targeting bachelors living in residential houses in Khaitan area and discovered 20 violating buildings. Warnings were issued against the owners of the violating buildings, asking them to evacuate the bachelors.

Acting head of the emergency team Hussain Dashti said the campaigns also resulted in the issuance of 27 food-related citations, removal of illegal advertisements and issuance of seven warnings against those who have illegally occupied state properties.

Meanwhile the Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality revealed that the Department for Lifting of Violations at Capital Municipality launched a campaign in Sharq, Qibla, Mubarakiya and Shuwaikh Industrial areas which resulted in the confiscation and destruction of 20 kilograms of spoiled food items.

Issuance of 29 citations including 17 food-related citations, removal of 12 violating advertisements, issuance of warnings against occupation of state properties, and removal of 70 barriers and 50 kilograms of chains that are used for reserving parking spots.

Furthermore, the Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality indicated that the Department of Public Hygiene and Road Occupancy at Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality carried out a field tour during which 1,750 cubic meters of garbage were lifted from the yards of mosques and main streets.

Also, 100 old garbage bins were replaced by new ones and eight neglected vehicles were lifted. In addition, the department stated that the Department of Public Hygiene and Road Occupancy at Hawally Municipality carried out a campaign which resulted in the lifting of 57 tons of waste, ruins and trees.

The campaign also included cleaning 33 inner roads and 45 main roads, lifting of 14 neglected vehicles and those displayed for sale, replacing of 86 garbage containers, cleaning nine school yards, removal of 25 violating advertisements, arrest of five beggars and lifting of five tons of waste from Salwa Slaughterhouse.

Also, the Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality stressed that the emergency team of Ahmadi Municipality carried out a campaign which resulted in the removal of 87 violating advertisements and issuance of 13 citations.
