Vaccination for age group 5-11 yrs begins

 KUWAIT CITY, Jan 30: The Ministry of Health will begin vaccination for age groups from 5 to 11 yrs from this week. This category exceeds 400,000 children which includes Kuwaitis and expats. They will be vaccinated with two doses of Pfizer vaccine as per the guidelines of WHO with authorized size of dose between intervals of 21 days.

The dose is not given as per the child’s weight but as per the age, parents have been called upon to take initiative to register for vaccination for their children as it has been proven that vaccination has been effective against COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile the head of the Sabhan Center for Rapid Testing (RT), Fajer Bourashid, said the center continues to receive visitors between 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The daily quoting sources said, the appointment must be made through the Ministry of Health website, saying several categories visit the site, including incoming people who are covered by the new decisions issued by the Council of Ministers, for example when a traveler arrives they have to get the PCR test for them to end home quarantine period.

The center also receives students who need to take the PCR test. Burashid said that the Ministry of Health has provided 12 centers in all health areas, with two centers in each health area to receive students, in addition to Sabhan. He added, the Sabhan Center receives between 9 and 10 thousand visitors weekly, and approximately 35 to 36 thousand per month. Burashid thanked the Director of Public Health, Fahd Al-Ghamlas, for his continuous follow-up of the Sabhan Rapid Test Center, and for his directives, from which we benefit most. We also thank all the staff at the center for their daily strenuous efforts.
