Two nabbed running fake maids office, immoral acts

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2: General Department of Residency Investigations, represented by the Department for Follow up of Residency Violators, arrested an Arab expatriate and an Asian expatriate for running an unlicensed domestic labor office and using it for immoral activities, reports Al-Shahed daily.

When the General Department for Residency Affairs received information about the illegal activities of the two suspects, necessary actions were taken and the information was investigated.

A team from the department raided a flat in Farwaniya area and arrested the two suspects along with 41 female domestic workers of Ethiopian nationality. Some of them were discovered to be in violation of the residency law, some others were reported as absconding and some were involved in lawsuits.

Meanwhile, General Department for Residency Affairs arrested 28 Ethiopian violators of residency law in Mahboula area. When the department received information about a house that shelters absconders and violators of domestic labor law, a team from the department raided the house after taking relevant legal actions.

They arrested 28 Ethiopian men and women who admitted that they do not work for their sponsors but work for daily wages. They have been referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal actions.
