Suicide bid by Indian nurse foiled; Ethiopian maid in suicide bid

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 18: A 32-year old Indian nurse was stopped from jumping from the window of her apartment on the fourth floor of a building in Khaitan area in an attempt to end her life. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the suicide attempt, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location and stopped her from killing herself. After discovering that she suffers from mental problems, she was referred to the Psychiatric Medicine Hospital for treatment. A case was registered.

Maid in suicide bid: An Ethiopian woman tried to commit suicide by drinking large quantity of disinfectants used for cleaning toilets, reports Al-Rai daily. Reportedly, the woman, who works as a housemaid, had filmed her suicide attempt. She was seen drinking the poisonous liquid while crying. According to a security source, the suicide attempt was discovered when her sponsor saw her condition and immediately took her to Farwaniya Hospital where she was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit. Doctors carried out examinations and discovered her body contained the poisonous liquid. They exerted efforts in washing her stomach and rescuing her life. A case was filed and referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal measures. Investigations have been launched to determine her reasons for attempting to end her life.
