Some curricula in KU outdated: Sara’awi

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 4: Former Chairman of Earth and Environment Department at the College of Science in University of Kuwait Mohammad Al- Sara’awi alleged that several university dons have become accustomed to stealing research works of their students, especially those pursuing their masters, reports Al-Shahed daily.

He explained those professors insert their names on the projects and publish them without acknowledging efforts of the students or including their names in the preface. He stressed that Kuwait University does not implement the reward and punishment policy for its academic staff that decline to publish research papers, and cited cases where some professors who spent almost 30 years in the institution did not publish more than one or two researches.

He stressed that some teachers were promoted from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor ranking with only few research papers contrary to reputable universities where professors are obliged to publish researches annually. He declared that some curricula in Kuwait University have been there for about 30 years and become outdated.
