KUWAIT CITY, June 30: According to high-ranking security sources, the Ministry of Interior intends to take strict measures against residents, irrespective of their nationality, who violate the laws that regulate national security or participate in demonstrations or sit-ins at the Erada Square. They announced that the ministry recently arrested and deported a Jordanian resident after receiving proof that he participated in a sit-in at the Erada Square in protest against the recent decisions of the Cabinet for dealing with the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic and preventing the travel of unvaccinated people or their entry into restaurants and malls. The sources affirmed that the Ministry of Interior monitored the presence of residents at the Erada Square, stressing that, “There is no place for anyone who does not respect the laws. Deportation is a step carried out in the public interest.”.
